HUSKERS MAINTAIN GRIP ON NO. 1

NASHVILLE, TN — Nebraska (37-6, 785 points) stayed atop the National Ten Pin Coaches Association's monthly poll but Fairleigh Dickinson (27-8, 720 points) bolted from its pre-season seventh spot into second place to make the most dramatic move after a month of competition.

Both the Huskers and the Knights had impressive fall campaigns, each winning every tournament they entered.  Nebraska garnered 21 first-place votes and 785 poll points to FDU's four first-place ballots and 720 points.

Arkansas State (42-14, 663 points) was third, down a notch from the pre-season poll, while Central Missouri (31-12, 633 points) climbed up two places to hold down fourth place. Sam Houston State (51-20, 547 points) dropped from third to fifth, followed by Vanderbilt (39-18, 523 points), Wisconsin-Whitewater (27-14, 463 points), Stephen F. Austin (37-17, 395 points), Maryland-Eastern Shore (26-13, 375 points) and North Carolina A&T (34-17, 358 points), which debuted in the Top 10 for the first time in program history.

In other poll firsts Tulane cracks the top 20 for the first time in school history.
